For more than twenty-five years, Lauren Griffith Associates has improved the quality of life in Texas through excellence in landscape architecture. With successful parks such as Market Square, Discovery Green, Sesquicentennial Park, improvements in Hermann Park and Memorial Park, and projects at NASA and the San Jacinto Battleground, we have created some of the most memorable spaces in the region. We continue to work with remarkable clients to enrich our green legacy.
Located in Houston since 1987, Lauren Griffith Associates established a branch office in San Antonio in 2012, providing landscape architectural services throughout Texas.
Lauren Griffith Associates produces projects independently as well as serving as a consultant to architects and other teams. Through careful selection of team members and consultants, we have participated in unique projects ranging from a $6 million children’s zoo and a $50 million park in downtown Houston to a 400-acre corporate campus that will house 10,000 employees. Preferring a studio approach, we keep our firm small and assemble teams with qualifications tailored to the special requirements of each new challenge. Every project has the principal’s full attention.
Our projects have received numerous local, national and international awards, and they have contributed to Houston’s being named “North America’s Placemaking Capital “(Project for Public Spaces,) “America’s Coolest City” (Forbes,) and “America’s Next Great Global City” (Forbes.)
While we are selective in the projects we take on in order to give each one the focus it deserves, our work ranges in scale from small, richly detailed courtyards and roof gardens to large campuses and regional parks. Professional services provided by
the firm include programming, master planning, and landscape architectural design, construction documents and construction administration. Lauren Griffith is particularly skilled at facilitating public meetings to reach consensus on public projects.
A proponent of sustainable design, Lauren Griffith Associates has produced more than twenty-five LEED certified projects, including 3 LEED Gold projects. We incorporate sustainability into all our work, regardless of certification goals, to provide best practices and value to our clients. In addition, the firm is adept at designing facilities and landscapes that can withstand periodic inundation in floodplains.
Lauren Griffith Associates supports the City of Houston SPARK Program, donating professional services to 18 SPARK Parks since the program’s inception.
