Lauren Griffith is an award winning, registered landscape architect with hundreds of successful projects to her credit. Early in her career, she gained national and international experience at firms such as EDAW; Johnson, Johnson & Roy; and 3D/International. She established Lauren Griffith Associates in 1987.

 

Ms. Griffith primarily has concentrated on public projects throughout her career, bringing a highly creative, focused design approach to a few select projects at a time. She follows projects through the entire process from programming to ribbon-cutting, bringing an exceptional level of dedication and quality control to each effort.  She has been Principal-In-Charge for memorable projects such as the John P. McGovern Children’s Zoo, Sesquicentennial Park and Market Square Park in Houston, Texas. She brings the same attention to the quality of outdoor spatial experience to private sector projects such as the 385-acre ExxonMobil corporate campus north of Houston.

 

Ms. Griffith has been honored as one of Texas A&M University College of Architecture’s Outstanding Alumni. She received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Summa Cum Laude, from TAMU and serves on the Professional Advisory Board of the Department of Landscape Architecture and Planning.

Committed to improving public spaces within the community, Ms. Griffith contributes personal time and professional services to several non-profit and civic organizations.  She also lectures on landscape architectural issues such as project development and sustainability.

 

Ms. Griffith is on the City of West University Place Planning and Zoning Commission and a professional ambassador for Peckerwood Garden. She is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Blueprint Houston, the City Parks Alliance, the Rice Design Alliance, the Memorial Park Conservancy and the Hermann Park Conservancy.
